Police seek person-of-interest in Brookhaven homicide, release sketch

BROOKHAVEN, Ga. -- Brookhaven police have released the sketch of a person they believe may have knowledge of a weekend homicide.

The incident happened in the 3100 block of Buford Highway on Saturday just before 3 p.m.

According to investigators, officers from the Patrol Division responded to multiple 911 calls of a person shot at Esquire Apartments.

Responding officers found the victim between two apartment buildings suffering from a single gunshot wound. The officer’s attempts to revive the victim were not successful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim’s identification has not yet been released, pending notification of family members.

Based on witness statements, a forensic sketch artist from the GBI rendered a drawing showing a person of interest. Investigators are attempting to identify this man and speak to him about the incident.
