ATLANTA -- From Tuesday, June 12 through Monday, July 23, Atlantans can indulge in an array of patriotic plates at all Marlow’s Tavern locations. The popular neighborhood tavern is featuring its six-week long “Red, White and Brew” menu. During this time, all eight locations of Marlow’s will offer special dishes and beverages that truly celebrate the summer season in America. This is also the time for grill masters to show off their skills in Marlow’s Third Annual Grilling Recipe Contest.

“We’re excited for the return of our ‘Red, White and Brew’ menu as it signifies a season of good times with friends and family, warmer weather and Americana,” says Executive Chef/Co-Founder John C. Metz. “It’s really become a summertime favorite for our guests, not only because of the delicious food but because they get to be a part of the celebration through our grilling contest,” he adds.

The “Red, White and Brew” menu includes the following dishes, which are offered daily during the six weeks:

  • Beer and cheese soup - a light beer soup with garlic, thyme, provolone, Swiss and Parmesan served with a ciabatta crisp ($6)
  • Firecracker deviled eggs –pimento cheese, applewood smoked bacon, fresh herbs and firecracker sauce ($3/$5)
  • Watermelon, feta and arugula salad –fresh basil, ginger and balsamic glaze ($9)
  • Red, White and Bleu Burger – made with lean ground beef and decorated with red pepper, Vidalia onion and Maytag blue cheese on a toasted sesame brioche bun served with American fries ($11)
  • Backyard blackened swordfish- dusted, grilled, pressed and stacked with baby arugula, citrus aioli, toasted challah and Red, White and Blue Potato Salad ($14)
  • Honey glazed grilled chicken-grilled chicken glazed with honey mustard and Meyer lemon served with loaded Red Bliss potatoes and chili-slathered corn on the cob ($16)
  • Grilled skirt steak-“hot off the grill” tender skirt steak blazed with house made chimichurri, summer squash and jumbo Vidalia onion rings ($18)
  • Chili slathered corn on the cob – secret seasoning, chili butter and fresh parsley ($3)
  • Red White and Blue Potato Salad – Red Bliss and Peruvian “blue” potatoes, applewood smoked bacon, chopped egg and fresh herbs ($3)
  • Banana Cream Pie “In a Glass”- made with fresh banana cream pie filling, vanilla wafers and house made bourbon caramel ($6).

The “Red, White and Brew” menu also features the following specialty beverages to complement the menu items:

  • Summertime” Watermelon Margarita-Herradura  Reposado, fresh watermelon syrup, house made sour and fresh lime ($8.50)
  • Tommy’s Favorite Sangria- Savida sangria, the freshest seasonal fruit and Agave nectar (red and white available - $8)
  • Red - Rogue® American Ale ($5.50)
  • White - Leinenkugel’s® Summer Shandy ($5)
  • Blue - Sweetwater® Blue ($5)

During the “Red, White and Brew” offering, the restaurants will also host the Third Annual Marlow’s Tavern Grilling Recipe Contest. Interested grillers can enter their favorite recipe at www.marlowstavern.com or fill out an entry form at one of the eight tavern locations. Entries will be accepted from June 12 through July 23. Executive Chef John C. Metz will review all recipes and determine the winners by August 15, 2012. Winners will be notified by phone or email at this time. No purchase is necessary for guests to enter this contest, and entries are limited to one per person or e-mail address. The first prize winner will receive a Big Green Egg. The second prize is a $50 Marlow’s Tavern gift card, and the third prize is a Marlow’s Tavern “Red, White and Brew” limited edition t-shirt.
